Hi, my name is Melissa, I’m 24 years old and I’m single and ready to mingle. Oh wait; this isn’t my tinder profile, is it?
However it’s a good starting point. I’m a travel blogger, but I’m doing it all alone, without the cute picture taking “Instagram” boyfriend. I also don’t have mermaid hair or the ability to always look flawless in every picture I take. So, you now might be thinking, as a travel blogger showing of their lives on Instagram, I don’t have a lot going for me. Well it’s a good thing you’re currently reading my blog and not my Instagram then hey, because if there is one thing I do have going for me, it’s that I’m kind of witty and can write a semi-decent blog post. At least according to my grandmother, who has to say nice things about me because of the laws of familiar relationships.
I am committed to writing realistic blog posts about my true feelings of living the travel blogger lifestyle. I’m also keen to guide you through everyday life living overseas, tourist places, cultural experiences and whatever else I find interesting. Obviously I had to name these works of literary art after something as amazing as the posts themselves, hence the Melissa’s Guide series was created.
Right now I live in Japan full time, employed as the most famous foreign female in my town (read: one of the only female white girls in a small Japanese city). I’m currently using my experiences from this to influence my writing. So if you don’t like sushi…well high five because I don’t really like sushi either.
If you’re looking for a something relatable to read with a whole dose of wacked out humour, welcome to my blog! I hope you like it here. Sorry it’s a bit devoid of blog posts, I believe in writing hard hitting posts, not useless drivel (which this whole about me section has turned into) so I don’t post too regularly. And because this now sounds like the words of a politician making empty promises, VOTE ONE the Fanciful Fungirl for the best travel blog in the world!
